There is a slight delay in getting this news up as the last month has been a bit hectic but here it is anyway!

  I travelled down to Portugal in my faithful Animal van for this great event which took place on the beautiful beach of Santa Rita in Santa Cruz, Torres Vedras.

The Ocean spirit Festival once again hosted the KPWT kitesurf world wave Championships, the Portuguese surfing championships, the World Kayak championships and the world Skim boarding championships.

The event was blessed with classic conditions for all the disciplines and I’m pleased to announce I managed to secure another 1^st place in the KPWT Kitesurf world wave championships.

The final of the kitesurf wave masters was run in powerful waves peaking at about 2- 3 metres with 15-18knots of side shore wind from the right.

My final heat was against Karrie Schibevaag from Norway and the final of the mens was between Jessie Ritchman from Hawaii and Jan Marcos Riveras from Dominican Republic. The conditions really gave us riders an opportunity to push our limits and to show how spectacular kitesurfing can be in the waves.   In the end it was Jessie Ritchman and myself who took Men and Womens 1^st place.
